The Town of DeRuyter's Land Use Regulations
were enacted in 1991 under the authority of Article 16 of the Town Law and Section 10 of the Municipal Home Rule Law of New
York State.
The purpose of this land use law and the land
use districts and regulations are to provide for the orderly growth of the Town and its hamlets; to encourage the most appropriate
use of land; to protect and conserve the value of property; to protect our farmland; to promote the health, safety and general
welfare of the public; and to preserve the character of the Town and its hamlets.
