The late George Staley and his family generously funded the majority of the renovation costs for the DeRuyter Town Hall and Library building in memory of wife and mother Genevieve. In tribute of the wonderful gift that the Staley family has given to our community, the town board has approved the building to be re-named in Genevieve's honor.

The Civic Center is located in the Village of DeRuyter
at the corner of
Utica Street (NYS Route 13) and Seminary Street.

Community Walk

The Genevieve D. Staley Civic Center is home of the Offices of the Town Clerk/Collector, Assessor, Codes Enforcement Officer, Town Justices, and Town Supervisor. All Town offices, courts, and meetings are held on the 1st Floor. Town Court is held in the Court Room and Town Board meetings, Town Planning, Zoning, and Grievance Boards hold their meetings in the Conference Room.
The DeRuyter Free Library is located on the second floor and
DeRuyter Community Services is located at the basement level.
The Civic Center is also home to a Field Office for the Madison County Sheriff's Department.
