By order of the Highway Superintendent of the Town of DeRuyter, the following sections of Town Highways are declared closed for the 2012-2013 winter season as per Highway Law 205-a, Declared Seasonal Limited Use:

Arnold Road from Cary Road 1.47 miles to John Finch residence.

Barrett Road .50 miles from Dugway Road to Cazenovia Town Line .31 miles.

Corkinsville Road from Barrett Road to Cazenovia Town Line .20 miles.

Fairbanks Road from Smith Road to Cazenovia Town Line 1.88 miles.

Richmond Road from Lincklaen Road to end .79 miles.

Chapman Road from Carpenter Road to Georgetown Town Line 1,100 feet.

Sherman Road from Crumb Hill Road #58  to Chenango County (Lincklaen) 1.15 miles.

Stanton Road .434 miles from Hunt Road #56 to D.E.C. Road at Y .556 miles.

Wood Road .30 miles from Crumb Hill Road #58 to Paradise Hill Road 1.99 miles.

The highway department maintains a total of 30.34 miles of Town roads.  23.8 miles of Town roads are paved and approximately 6.5 miles are seasonal gravel roads.
The Town of DeRuyter highway department plows, salts and sands a total of 51.14 miles of roads during the winter season.  5.1 miles are State roads, 22.2 miles are County roads and 23.8 miles are Town roads.  Between 3,000 and 4,000 tons of sand are used per winter and 700 to 1,000 tons of salt is required to maintain the roads every winter.
